Rarely has a pipeline been as controversial as the Nord Stream 2. On Tuesday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz decided that no gas will flow in the connection between Germany and Russia for the time being. It is the umpteenth chapter in a soap that seems to never end. Why is the pipeline causing so much hassle? And doesn’t Europe just really need that gas?
