Odlo and the parent company Monte Rosa Sport, which owns the brands Henri-Lloyd and Janus in addition to Odlo, have appointed Daniel Eppler as the new managing director.
Eppler will take on the role of CEO at Odlo and Monte Rosa Sport, outdoor outfitter Odlo International AG, based in Hünenberg, Switzerland, announced on Tuesday. He takes over for Knut Are Høgberg.
“I’m delighted to be joining a strong team leading three authentic brands, all of which have an impressive track record of innovation and material development, and also produce predominantly in Europe,” said Eppler.
The new Odlo boss comes to Odlo from the US sports goods retailer Nike, where he was responsible for the EMEA business as Vice President of Sales and Partner Management.
“His background, expertise and network, which he has built up in the European markets over the two decades he has worked for Nike, have prepared him well for this management role,” said Hugo Maurstad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Monte Rosa Sport, of Eppler.
Høgberg joined Odlo in 2015 as COO and took over as CEO in 2018. Two years later he led the company through the change of ownership where Monte Rosa Sport acquired Odlo from Herkules Fund III, which is managed by Norwegian financial investor Herkules Capital AS.
“We would like to thank Knut Are for his great dedication and leadership in taking Odlo from a difficult position to a strong and financially sound company,” said Maurstad.
