New CEO comes from DSquared2

Sergio Azzolari has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Roberto Cavalli.

Azzolari will take up his new position on April 2, the Italian fashion house announced on Thursday. He brings experience from fashion retail and has ensured growth for various brands.

“Finding the right partner to work with me to advance Roberto Cavalli in our development has been a key focus over the past few months and I am thrilled that Mr. Azzolari will join our talented team,” said Hussain Sajwani, CEO of the investment firm DAMAC Group, to which Roberto Cavalli has belonged since 2019.

So far, Azzolari has been active for DSquared2. He took over as CEO of the brand last April, becoming the first internal CEO since 2017. Before that, he held various management positions at Tod’s Group, where he worked in Asia, Americas and Europe. Most recently, he worked for the Italian fashion group as general manager of Fay and Hogan. Other stations were Missoni, Luxottica and Deckers Corp.

“He is an experienced leader with a deep passion for the consumer and a keen understanding of building global omnichannel brands,” said Sajwani. “Combined with his collaborative working style, transformational experience and strong focus on results, he will position us well as we move into the future.”
