New arrest after house robbery where fortune in Pokémon cards was stolen

A new suspect was arrested today in the investigation into a violent home robbery in Nieuw-Vennep. Bee the robbery at the end of October, a 46-year-old man was robbed of more than €15,000 in Pokémon cards, cash and clothes. The victim was tied up, held at gunpoint and beaten several times.

At the end of October, the victim’s doorbell rang around 2 p.m. Unsuspectingly, he opens the door when three unknown men are at the door. Because the man has a home business, strangers are often at the door. He therefore lets the men in and invites them to his business space, where things then go completely wrong.

“One of the men immediately pointed a gun at the victim’s head,” a police spokesman said earlier this month. “It is not known whether it was a real or a fake firearm, but thanks to his experience in martial arts, the man manages to knock the weapon away. Nevertheless, the robbers win the day: they overpower their target by attacking him sitting,” police said.

The man is severely beaten: they hit him several times with the firearm on the head, tie him up and kick him. They then search the house and take clothes, sixteen handmade leotards and 500 Pokémon cards worth €15,000.

At the beginning of this month, the police showed images of two suspects in a TV program Discovery Requested. Earlier that day, a 31-year-old suspect from Rotterdam was arrested for involvement in the robbery.
