With musical heroes like RL Burnside and T-Model Ford Is it not surprising that as a band you want to have the album mixed in America. The Hoogeveense Voodoo Garage Blues-Mand Bacon Fat Louis was looking for it for her new album, and in Detroit. A mix of garage rock and blues with a raw edge.

“We don’t all have much with the standard Blues,” says drummer Rik Penninga. “We make our own songs and we are really looking for the authentic sound, but also the dirty again, the rough.” In this way he came to producer and sound guru Jim Diamond in Detroit.

Diamond is known for, among other things The White Stripes,, ” The Sonics, Electric Six And many more bands in the alternative genre. No stranger, and according to Penninga the man for the job. He approached him via Facebook, sent him some sound clips, and it was round. “He thought it was really cool shit, you know,” smiles Penninga. Diamond was looking forward to it and wanted to do it. “That’s how it really went yes.”

The album has since been included in Weiteveen at Frans Vollink and is then sent to the United States via the internet. “Then the best man will play with his knocks in Detroit and then we are very curious what comes out,” says Penninga.

When the album has to come out, the question is, because the delivery times of vinyl are uncertain the drummer explains. “We prefer it for the Zwarte Cross, that’s the benchmark for us.” Bacon fat Louis, just like last year, must also perform at the festival this year. “Quite experience,” Penninga summarizes the performance of the time. “The first time comes in yes”.
