Nevertheless, the Lufthansa share is weakening: pilots and Lufthansa continue to negotiate – no strike for the time being

The company and the Vereinigung Cockpit union (VC) confirmed on Friday that they had agreed to hold another meeting for next Tuesday (August 30). A VC spokesman said there would be no strikes until then.

Both sides remained silent about the content of Lufthansa’s offer, which has since been improved and presented on Thursday. VC had declared on Thursday that strikes could be called at any time with immediate effect.

The tariff conflict is officially about higher remuneration for the more than 5,000 pilots of the Lufthansa core company and the freight subsidiary Lufthansa Cargo. In addition to a new salary structure for the current year, VC is demanding 5.5 percent more and automatic inflation compensation from 2023.

In the background, there is also a conflict about corporate strategy. VC wants as many aircraft as possible to be occupied under its tariff conditions, while the company promotes lower-tariff flight operations that are to take over parts of the routes./ceb/DP/nas

In XETRA trading, Lufthansa papers temporarily fall by 1.59 percent to 5.89 euros.
