The Netherlands faced Italy in the third place match of the UEFA Nations League.
In the fight at De Grolsch Veste, Italy took a 1-0 lead with Federico Dimarco in the 6th minute.
Sky Blues doubled the lead with Davide Frattesi in the 20th minute. The first half ended with Italy leading 2-0.
Starting the second half with three substitutions, Netherlands narrowed the lead to one with Steven Bergwijn in the 68th minute. Four minutes after this goal, Federico Chiesa made the score 3-1.
Wout Weghorst’s goal in the 82nd minute in the Netherlands was not valid due to offside. Oranges again reduced the lead to one with Georginio Wijnaldum in the 89th minute.
When there was no other goal in the remaining time, Italy won the match 3-2 and finished third in the UEFA Nations League.
In Italy, Galatasaray’s star Nicolo Zaniolo came into the game in the 64th minute of the match where he started as a substitute.
