So much should be said: In the True Crime documentary, which, according to Netflix between August 29 and September 14, has already come to 46.6 million views, there are two teenagers from the small town of Beal (Michigan).

Lauryn and Owen (both 13) come together, the parents of the two friends led to, everything seems to be great. Then, however, start anonymous messages that aim to bring the young couple apart. The bullying via cell phone is getting worse, the news is malignant and vulgar.

The young couple cannot block the sender because apps are used that constantly generate new phone numbers. The distrust of young love, family, at school, in the city is getting bigger.

The FBI solved the case

Even a separation of the couple does not end. Stalking against Lauryn accepts tremendous dimensions. After all, the FBI can solve the puzzle – legal consequences come about.

Catfishing-for example in dating apps or on social media platforms-denotes the preliminary vault of a false online identity by a cyber criminals (the catfish). The goal is usually to exploit the victim emotionally. It is often also about cheating financially.

The term “catfish” (Katzenwels) stems from a documentary of the same name by Nev Schulman from 2010. In this, someone compares this special type of cybercrime with the use of cats in the fishing.

The catfish are therefore used during the transport of living coduas so that the cod (i.e. cod/English: cod) remains active and does not become pale and lethargic – and in this way its quality for trade and consumption does not lose.
