Agreement between FIFA and the platform for the edition that will take place in Brazil in three years and for the following one. President Infantino: “Historic moment”
For the first time, Netflix will broadcast live football in the USA: it will happen on the occasion of the Women’s World Cup, for the 2027 and 2031 editions thanks to the agreement signed between Netflix and FIFA, relating to exclusive rights in the United States. The Women’s World Cup will therefore be the first competition to be completely acquired by Netflix. “This is a historic moment for sports media rights,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said. “As a flagship brand and new long-term partner of FIFA, Netflix has demonstrated a strong level of commitment to the growth of women’s football. This deal sends a strong message about the real value of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and women’s football global The collaboration between FIFA and Netflix makes this a truly historic day for broadcasting and for women’s football.”

Following FIFA’s decision to partner exclusively with Netflix, the 2027 and 2031 editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup are poised to reach an even broader audience and set new benchmarks in terms of US involvement. The 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Brazil from 24 June to 25 July 2027, will see 32 national teams at the start. The host nation for the 2031 edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup will be decided by the FIFA Congress in due course. In addition to offering live coverage, Netflix will produce exclusive documentary series ahead of both tournaments, highlighting the world’s best players, their journeys and the global growth of women’s football.
