Netflix has announced it is producing a three-part documentary about convicted sex offender Gary Grid. Under the working title “Haunting Gary Glitter”, the streaming provider will show previously unpublished material from journalists who have dealt with the 78-year-old and his serious crimes. Victims should also have their say in the series.

Some of those interviewed for the series researched Paul Gadd for years in order to bring him to court. They also informed the Southeast Asian authorities, which led to his conviction and deportation from Vietnam in 2006 and 2008 respectively. In the UK in February 2015, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for, among other things, the abuse of minors and eight years later – as is not unusual in the UK – released on parole for the remainder of the term in February 2015, which led to protests.

Sam Hobkins will direct the documentary about the former 1970s glam rock star. Producer is British Cammy Millard, the project has been running for several months. Loud “TheTimes“Amazon Prime Video is also planning a documentary about the convicted sex offender.
