A nest with Asian horners on the valley in the Baggelhuizen district in Assen was removed on Friday afternoon. This hornet does not belong in the Netherlands.
The nest was discovered yesterday during pruning work by the municipality. An employee was stabbed by a hornet. These stitches can be much more painful than those of a wasp. To protect local residents, fences were placed around the nest.
