NEL completed a capital increase on Tuesday. With the start of Samsung E&A, the hydrogen specialist wants to strengthen its international position and continue its growth strategy.

NEL concludes capital increase
The Norwegian hydrogen specialist Nel has now completed a capital increase. As can be seen from a corresponding company report, NEL has now officially completed the investment agreement announced on March 11, 2025 with Samsung E&A. The capital increase carried out in the course of the private placement was registered accordingly in the Norwegian commercial register. The new share capital amounts to 367,691,566.80 Norwegian crowns, divided into 1,838,457,834 shares with a nominal value of 0.20 Norwegian crowns, according to the statement.
On the occasion of the partnership with Samsung E&A, NEL-CEO Håkon Volldal emphasized that the company focused on electrolyseur stacks and the Balance of Stack technology. “Therefore, we have to work with EPC companies that offer balance-of-plan solutions and expand our global market presence. It is an honor that such a renowned and solid company like Samsung E&A has chosen a partnership with NEL based on our technology and manufacturing leadership,” he explains.
The collaboration is also positively evaluated on the South Korean side: Samsung E & A-CEO Hong Namkoong praised Nel as the leading provider of electrolysis technology-and the only company with competitive solutions in both alkaline and PEM area. You are very happy about the new partnership.
Nel share loses
The NEL share has been able to grow by 5.56 percent since the beginning of the year. However, the paper went down in Tuesday trading on Euronext. Ultimately, the share certificate lost 3.44 percent to 2.75 Norwegian crowns.
