The US retail group Neiman Marcus Group has pushed ahead with its reforms with two trend-setting personnel decisions. The company announced on Friday that Amanda Martin has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president, chief supply chain officer. According to the company, in this role she is responsible for all supply chain activities of the group as well as the ongoing transformation program in this area. In addition, she will lead the retailer’s photo studio and customer service, Neiman Marcus explained.

At the same time, the company promoted Vijay Karthik to senior vice president, chief technology officer. He will report to Chief Product & Technology Officer Bob Kupbens and will be responsible for building out all customer facing IT systems. Among other things, Karthik assumes responsibility for the omnichannel technologies, the cloud platforms and the functionality of the IT architecture.

Neiman Marcus wants to use the personal details to support two important reform projects: According to the company, it plans to invest more than 90 million US dollars in strengthening its supply chains and 200 million US dollars in expanding its digital capabilities. As part of these efforts, the company announced the acquisition of the start-up Stylyze, which specializes in e-commerce solutions, last summer.
