Neck-and-neck race in Suriname between the largest government party and opposition party

The elections in Suriname have resulted in a neck-and-neck race between the largest government party and the largest opposition party. The National Democratic Party (NDP) of Jenny Simons is at 18 of the 51 seats, while the progressive reform party (VHP) of sitting President Chan Santokhi is currently reaching 17 seats.
