Almost four hundred thousand people were caught by a speed camera in our province last year for a violation. This is according to figures from the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB). On the Geldropseweg in Eindhoven, most people were caught driving hard. Many drivers were also flashed in Erp and Helmond.

Last year, the CJIB registered 388,687 traffic fines with the speed cameras in our province. Of these, 369,719 were for too fast. The remaining 18,968 were for driving through red light.

Most flashed in Eindhoven
Most people were flashed by the post on the Geldropseweg in Eindhoven. Almost 27,000 people drove too fast there last year.

The speed camera on the Veghelsedijk in ERP registered more than 19,000 speed drivers. At the John F. Kennedylaan in Eindhoven near the Heeghtakker, nearly 18,000 motorists were flashed because they drove too quickly.

More than 15,000 motorists were flashed on the N270 Europaweg in Helmond at the Hortsedijk intersection. One hundred motorists drove through red. The other drivers drove too fast.

Dalizing traffic fines
Nationally, more than half a million fewer traffic fines were issued by the CJIB than in 2023. For example, 7.9 million fines were sent, while there were almost 8.5 million in 2023.

According to the Ministry of Justice and Security, the decrease can be attributed to, among other things, the collective labor agreement actions of the police from earlier this year, but also to the replacement of fixed speed cameras so that they are outstanding. The police also focus more on heavier traffic offenses.
