Stage one: 124 kilometers. The Grand Départ starts in Rotterdam at the Boijmans van Beuningen Depot and travels through the city center via Witte de Withstraat and Coolsingel. The riders then race through Delfshaven to reach Schiedam and Vlaardingen. Hopefully the Blankenburg connection will be open again by then, because the peloton will race after Vlaardingen to Rozenburg, Hellevoetsluis and Zuidland.

The cyclists return north through the same tunnel. Westland is on the programme: Maasdijk, ‘s Gravenzande and Monster lead the way to the coast. The course ends in Kijkduin, but not before the women have visited the Zuiderpark and the Peace Palace.

Second stage: from Dordrecht to Rotterdam

Stage two: 67 kilometers. On Tuesday, August 13, the riders will leave from the Energieplein in Dordrecht. They race through the historic city center and the harbor towards the Merwede Bridge, after which they can enjoy the view of the windmills of Kinderdijk. The women’s caravan goes to Rotterdam South via Alblasserdam, Ridderkerk, Barendrecht and Rhoon. The route includes the Kuip, Willemsbrug and Maasboulevard.

Individual time trial in Rotterdam

Stage three: 6.3 kilometers. On the same day, the speedsters will indulge themselves during an individual time trial in Rotterdam. The starting point is near the Erasmus Bridge on the Schiedamsedijk. The peloton first goes to Hofplein and then returns to cross the Erasmus Bridge. The women race to the finish via the Spoorweghavenbrug, Binnenhavenbrug, Koninginnebrug and the Willemsbrug: the Boompjes.

Now the question remains: who will leave Rotterdam in the yellow jersey? Go watch and encourage the women. From Zoetermeer it is best to travel to Rotterdam by RandstadRail tram and Metro Slinge E.
