The Detroit Pistons, who had recently traded him to Washington bringing him to Motown, dumped Danilo Gallinari shortly after the transfer deadline: his contract was expiring. He therefore will not play together with Simone Fontecchio, the Pistons’ new acquisition, who should field him in the quintet. We’ll see if Gallinari will be available as a free agent, if a playoff team will look for him to add a veteran to their roster with a view to the post season.

Danilo Gallinari is 35 years old, has played in the NBA since 2008, so far he has worn the shirt of New York, Denver, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City, Atlanta (with whom he played in the Eastern Conference final), Washington and Detroit. The two-year contract signed with Boston in the summer of 2022 never turned into his debut with the Celtics shirt due to the cruciate ligament injury suffered in the national team.
