NBA: Boston Celtics win top game against Memphis Grizzlies

The Boston Celtics won the NBA’s top game against the Memphis Grizzlies and remain the number one pick in the league.

The leader of the Eastern Conference won at home 119:109 (61:48) against the runner-up from the West. For Boston it was the 41st win of the season in 16 defeats, Memphis lost for the 22nd time after 34 wins so far.

The Grizzlies got off to a better start and were still ahead 37:31 in the second quarter, but by the break the hosts had turned this gap into a 61:48 lead.

The Grizzlies also started better in the second half and equalized to 63:63. In the final section, the hosts then sat down decisively.

The best pitchers in a balanced Celtics offensive were Derrick White with 23 points and Sam Hauser with 20 points. Jayson Tatum had a modest 16 points for him.

For Memphis, Ja Morant was the most successful with 25 points.
