Navi secures group victory against FaZe in CS:GO ESL Pro League

In Group C of the “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” league, Natus Vincere secured group victory against FaZe Clan. A major semi-finalist lost out to a debutant.

“FaZe was always the most difficult opponent for me, and here it was difficult on Nuke too,” said Navi announcer Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen in the post-match interview. “Now we’ve won and I’m happy about it.”

As clear favorites, FaZe and Navi had already secured playoff qualification on Thursday. On Sunday there was a direct duel in the upper bracket final, in which it became relatively clear. Navi won the first map clearly with 16:4, and secured the second map with Nuke after a strong final phase with 16:13.

Major semi-finalist Apeks, however, was eliminated. Against Fnatic, they were only a few rounds short of the playoffs, but the team still lost the game and was relegated to the last chance bracket. There the South American 9z team prevailed, which later also eliminated 5yclone from China and made it into the playoffs in its first Pro League participation.
