A fire broke out at the end of the afternoon in the Okkenveen nature reserve near Tynaarlo and in a piece of forest on the Marten Kuilerweg in Elim.
The flames can be seen in the bushes of Okkenveen and smoke hangs above the area. The fire brigade was pulled out with two tanker sprayers and three water cars to fight the fire.
In the south of the province, a natural fire broke out near Elim. Fire brigade posts from Westerbork, Ruinen, Sleen, Hoogeveen and Dwingeloo, among other things, came up with a special fire truck that is suitable for extinguishing natural fires to the scene of disaster.
