Four days before the CHIO in Aachen, the German team only took fourth place in the Nations Cup at the horse show in Rotterdam.
None of the four couples managed two clean rounds. The quartet of national coach Otto Becker conceded a total of 16 penalty points. The Dutch team won the test without penalty, ahead of France and Ireland with eight points each.
The best result was delivered by Gerrit Nieberg from Sendenhorst, who stayed with Ben in the first round without a knockdown and received four penalty points in the second. Katrin Eckermann (Sassenberg) with Cala Mandia and Marcus Ehning (Borken) with A la Carte each had two knockdowns per round. Fourth team rider was Hans-Dieter Dreher (Eimeldingen) with Elysium (0/12).
Ehning was also nominated by the national coach for the Nations Cup at the CHIO in Aachen, but with his top horse Stargold. The show jumping competitions begin on June 28th at the largest tournament in the world.
