Reminding that the athletes were well prepared and became world champions as a team, Akyüz said, “It was really difficult to achieve this, but they did it. We went as a team with 14 athletes, we received a total of 44 medals, including 19 gold, 17 silver and 8 bronze, and we left our mark on the championship there.” he said.

Abdurrahman Akyüz emphasized that they did not only prioritize sporting success, but also held the Turkish Championship in Yalova last year with the slogan “Mercy to our martyrs, support for Palestine” and said, “First we say morality, spirituality and discipline, then sports success, then world championship. We have drawn a route for ourselves and we are working accordingly. In 2025, we achieved a total of 524 medals, including 231 gold, 142 silver and 151 bronze. This is great.” success. We are at a higher level than many federations in Türkiye in terms of the number of medals obtained.” he said.

Expressing that their goal this year is to achieve new championships, Akyüz said, “We are training athletes from the bottom up. Our best athletes have trained and won world championships. We strive to raise those from the bottom as very good athletes at their level. We want to make our new young athletes successful, just like their older sisters and brothers, and represent Türkiye in the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games to be held in Dakar in October.” he said.

Akyüz stated that wushu trains the body and exercises the mind, adding that it is a beneficial sport with these features.
