The blue coach Roberto Mancini, after the afternoon training in Coverciano, has released the list of 30 players who will take part in the “Final” with Argentina, scheduled for next Wednesday at Wembley: it is the challenge between the European champions and of South America. The players who have been part of the national team at work in recent days and who are not included in the list for London will have two days of rest: they will return to the Federal Technical Center on the evening of 1 June, to join the group returning in the night from the Gran Brittany.

The list

Goalkeepers: Cragno, Donnarumma, Gollini, Meret (in addition to Sirigu, injured).

Defenders: Di Lorenzo, Florenzi, Lazzari, Acerbi, Bastoni, Bonucci, Chiellini; Emerson, Spinazzola.

Midfielders: Stretcher, Cristante, Frattesi, Jorginho, Locatelli, Pessina, Tonali, Verratti.

Forwards: Belotti, Bernardeschi, Gnonto, Insigne, Pellegrini, Politano, Raspadori, Scamacca.

Who is Gnonto

Among the thirty called up, the surprise name is that of Degnand Wilfried “Willy” Gnonto, a 2003-class winger from Zurich (8 goals in the last season, winning the Swiss championship) where he arrived in 2020 just sixteen from Inter. Born in Baveno (Verbania) of Ivory Coast parents, Gnonto chose the blue and is captain of the Under 19 national team, after being the blue top scorer at the 2019 Under 17 World Cup.
