From Tuesday 10 a.m. the National Heat Plan will take effect for all Dutch provinces, Die. Temperatures can then rise above 30 degrees. The RIVM writes writes That the heat plan is intended to warn care professionals and caregivers who work with vulnerable people of the warm weather. The plan also applies to Wednesday, Thursday it will probably be thunderstorms, which means that the temperature will drop again, the KNMI expects.

According to the RIVM, people over 75 in particular are vulnerable in warm weather, “because they can keep their body temperature under control and have a thirst feeling less quickly.” In addition, there is extra danger to young children, homeless people and people with a chronic condition.

RIVM warns of dehydration and heat stroke, and advises vulnerable people to keep drinking water, closing the curtains, using a fan and not to go outside in the afternoon hours.
