National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg still hopes that striker Klara Bühl will be able to test herself in time for the German soccer team’s European Championship final against England.
“You have to wait and see if she can come back. She doesn’t have any symptoms. And if she’s negative, then she’s an issue for us. We’ll look at it from day to day,” said the 54-year-old after the 2-1 -Victory of the DFB women in the semifinals against France.
Bühl missed the game in Milton Keynes. The 21-year-old from FC Bayern Munich had tested positive for the corona virus, as the DFB announced on Tuesday. The UEFA protocol at the European Championship in England stipulates that players in such cases can take a free test after five days and if they are symptom-free.
“Lara is looking forward to us. We’ll see what happens in the next few days,” said Voss-Tecklenburg. Your team will play hosts England for the title on Sunday (6:00 p.m. CEST/ARD and DAZN) at Wembley Stadium in London.
