National coach Andries Jonker does not yet know whether Vivianne Miedema will play against Scotland

National coach Andries Jonker does not yet know whether he will give Vivianne Miedema playing time again in the second match in four days against the Scottish football players.

The Arsenal striker made her return to the Dutch team last Friday in Nijmegen against Scotland (4-0) in the final phase, after ten months of absence.

It is advisable to be cautious, says Jonker. “The agreement with both Arsenal and Vivianne is that we look at it per match, but actually also per day. How is she, how is she doing,” he said. “She trained with the Dutch Juniors yesterday and the entire training with us today. She can be deployed for a short period, but it will depend entirely on the competition whether we call on her.”

The 27-year-old Miedema came on as a substitute for the Dutch team against Scotland last Friday and thought it was very special. “I worked very hard for ten months to be here,” said the striker, who has recovered from a cruciate ligament injury.
