Do you dream of a job in healthcare, but do you doubt whether you are suitable for it? Healthcare organization Welthuis Says: yes! Whether you are an experienced nurse whether you want to train internally to be a caretaker: Welthuis is not looking for the stereotype care worker, but for real people who want to do something beautiful for their fellow man.
Nathalie Schutter – Klos has been a quality nurse for almost seven years Well -house Vivaldi. “I make sure that the quality of our care is as good as possible, I am keeping an eye on the team,” she says. Nathalie’s work is controlling, but not judgmental: “I especially offer a lot of help to the team and often also hand out compliments when things go well.”
A great challenge
“As a quality nurse I keep one Helicopter View About the team and the residents, “says Nathalie.” I make sure everyone gets what they need. For example, if a resident needs some complex care, I look at what the team should learn and I coach them in it. ”
“I always think it is a positive challenge to fulfill the wishes of our residents. We ensure that residents can continue as much as possible of their trusted habits from home in the nursing home. For example, if someone wants to swim three times a week and to do so, we will ensure that this is possible.”
Special Moments
Nathalie experiences many special moments in her work. “For example, we have a resident with dementia who needs intensive guidance,” she says. “When he arrived here he was very unhappy. He didn’t know where he was and did not trust anyone because he felt abandoned. This caused behavioral problems.”
“By thinking about this as a team about this, we found out that this man needed freedom. Of course we could not just let him walk away on his own, but we arranged guidance with which he can go outside when he wants. We see that this really contributes to his happiness. He may not speak this, but he has been visibly comfortable. I think it has been so close to his wishes.”
No stereotype
As a care worker you sometimes face challenging or fierce situations. “There is a stereotype that you can handle calmly and keeping with everything, but that is of course not the case,” says Nathalie. “You experience many emotional events, people are sick or die. At work I deal with it professionally, but you also need an outlet.”
For Nathalie that is hockey. “I can store all my energy in that. I can always swear well on the field, when needed. You don’t always have to be the same, stable person. You are a care worker, but also more than that.”
The great team is another outlet valve that makes it easier for Nathalie to make it easier. “With the other quality nurses who work at other Welthuis locations, I can always call to spar about a complicated situation. Within my own location I work with the nurses, I speak to them daily. I can always go to the location manager when needed.”

For anyone with a care dream, Nathalie would recommend working at Welthuis. “We are looking for people who find it important that a resident can be himself, people who can think out of the box and get energy from hard work.” Even if you do not have a care background, there are options for you at Welthuis, because you can be trained internally here. This way you can get started right away and you earn money while you learn for your dream job.
“Welthuis is innovative,” concludes Nathalie. “We are constantly looking for ways to improve care, relieve work pressure and increase job satisfaction.” Are you curious if a function at Welthuis suits you? View all vacancies And take on the challenge!
