NASDAQ value PayPal shares in demand: PayPal exceeds profit expectations

The payment service provider PayPal presented its balance sheet for the past quarter on Wednesday after trading closed on the US stock exchanges.

PayPal earned $1.3 in earnings per share in the third quarter of 2023. The group thus exceeded analysts’ expectations, which averaged earnings per share of $1.23. In the same period last year, PayPal had a profit of $1.08 per share in its books.

The US group reported sales of $7.42 billion. This corresponds to an increase compared to the same period last year, when PayPal had sales of 6.85 billion US dollars. The expert estimates for the current quarterly sales had previously amounted to 7.39 billion US dollars.

The payment service PayPal significantly increased sales in the last quarter. At the same time, profits fell by 23 percent to $1.02 billion. Paypal’s profit forecast for the current quarter exceeded analysts’ average expectations.

In trading on the NASDAQ, PayPal shares were temporarily 6.06 percent stronger at $54.79.
