• The rumor mill surrounding Tesla’s new Model 3 version is simmering
• Soon premiere of new Tesla model? • Highland should bring some innovations with it

Media reports on a new, revised version of Tesla’s Model 3 have been available for months. There has already been a lot of speculation as to what the new model might look like and when it might be launched. Now the so-called “Highland” could be about to have its world premiere.

Soon premiere of new Tesla model?

Earlier this month, an X user reported that Tesla’s gigafactory in Shanghai had started to switch production. The US electric car manufacturer is said to have initially started to produce the current Model 3 and the new Highland model for two days, alternating between two days and then switching completely to Highland production two weeks later.

Tesla’s gigafactory in Shanghai should therefore have completely switched to Highland production. According to a local observer, a stress test for Highland production is planned for the end of August.

Meanwhile, according to Teslamag, the Chinese business magazine Yicai reported that Tesla employees were already accepting reservations for the new variant of the Model 3.

According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, Tesla is in the final stages of producing display vehicles, which are expected to arrive in Tesla showrooms later this month. Mass production of the revised Model 3 in China could then begin as early as September.

Highland should bring these innovations

Tesla fans should already be eagerly awaiting what the new, revised variant of the Model 3 will look like and at what price it will be available. Because in the Highland, the number of components should be further reduced, the interior set-up simplified and thus production costs reduced, which is why there has already been speculation that the new model could be cheaper for customers. However, this should also depend on demand.

According to Teslamag, during Erlkönig sightings it was already clear that Highland had no turn signal and gear levers on the steering wheel. According to INSIDEEVs, the new model could also come with slimmer headlights, changes to the front and rear bumpers, new wheels, new taillights and a new diffuser. As Teslamag reports, Yicai has also already learned some technical information about the new Model 3. According to Yicai, Tesla should use CATL LFP batteries for the new model. The basic version should have a little more capacity with 66 kilowatt hours and the higher versions with 72 kilowatt hours a little less capacity.

Until the US electric car manufacturer officially unveils its new model, Tesla fans can wait and see what innovations the Highland will actually bring. As VISION mobility reports, Tesla could possibly present the Highland as early as the beginning of September – quite untypical for Tesla at a classic car show, the IAA Mobility in Munich.
