NASDAQ stock NVIDIA stock: NVIDIA plans to use chatbot technology to enhance video game conversations

When players currently address such so-called Non-Playable Characters (NPC) in games, they usually have to resort to a selection of a few sentences, since the answers are permanently stored. In contrast, NVIDIA demonstrated in a video on Monday how a software character reacted in dialogue to freely spoken sentences from a player.

NVIDIA not only wants to sell game developers the chatbot technology used to generate the answers, but also software with which the computer character’s facial expressions can be adjusted accordingly. The chip group calls the offer Avatar Cloud Engine (NVIDIA ACE).

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang also presented a new supercomputer for artificial intelligence applications at the Computex computer fair in Taipei, Taiwan on Monday. With its graphics card technology, NVIDIA is developing into a leading provider of hardware for AI programs. Last week, NVIDIA surprised the stock market with a revenue forecast for the current quarter that was roughly 50% higher than analysts’ expectations. The share then jumped up by around a quarter.

In recent months, chatbots like ChatGPT have created new hype about applications based on artificial intelligence. Such software is trained on massive amounts of data and builds sentences by guessing word by word how to proceed.
