Dusan Tadic opened the scoring from a penalty kick in the 27th minute, which was given after a minor foul on left back Owen Wijndal. RB Salzburg came alongside shortly afterwards. Perr Schuurs tried to clear the ball after a cross from the right, but it was 1-1 via Nicolas Capaldo.
Ajax still went to rest with a lead. On a pass from Steven Bergwijn, Mohammed Kudus hit the target.

After more than an hour of play, Schreuder took eight players off at the same time and replaced them with many youngsters. After a mistake by Sean Klaiber, Benjamin Sesko took advantage in the 72nd minute, but the Austrians got no further.
At Ajax, defender Jurriën Timber and attacker Antony did not participate yet. The same was true for Mohamed Ihattaren, who is not on training camp. Ajax will play the second practice match in Austria on Saturday, then against Eintracht Frankfurt, winner of the Europa League.
