Last year at this time the two colleagues and friends successfully ventured into Filumena Marturano. Tonight, however, they dress, always impeccably, in the role of Gennaro and Amalia Jovine, grappling with the education of three children, war, poverty and greed for money.
Naples millionaire!the plot
1943, Naples, vico Scassacocchi. Amalia (Vanessa Scalera) and her husband Gennaro (Massimiliano Gallo), with their three children Amedeo (Vincenzo Nemolato), Maria Rosaria (Carolina Rapillo) and the five-year-old girl Rituccia (Andrea Solimena), live with hardship in their small house. He is a former tram driver forced to play dead to cover up illegal dealings of the wife who makes do smuggling flour, oil, coffee, beans and various foodstuffs with the help of Errico Settebellizze (Michele Venitucci), a man who dotes on ambitious women.
While he is buying apples, Gennaro he is captured by the retreating Germans. After 13 months the man returns to Naples devastated by war. Everyone in the neighborhood, including his family, thought he was dead. When Gennaro enters his house he finds everything changed, Amalia has become rich through smuggling and the company founded with Settebellizzeher son Amedeo is a car thief, Maria Rosaria is pregnant by an American who has run away, and Rituccia is in bed with a fever.
Only the illness of her youngest daughter will bring Amalia closer to her husband and will make the woman understand how much war is money blinded her. The man begins to rebuild the honest identity of his family dissolved causing your eyes to reopen to his wife who fell into the abyss.
