The president is also the protagonist of the new drop together with Giovane, Hojlund and Vergara
It’s not Martin Scorsese, but Aurelio De Laurentiis. Yet the pose is identical. The Napoli president copies the iconic image of the American director and producer, taken from a 2020 photo shoot by the New York Times. The image of Scorsese with his hands raised and a half smile soon became a meme, describing in an ironic and sincere way the maximum approval for an absolute masterpiece. It is no coincidence that it is almost always accompanied by the caption “Absolute cinema” and reiterates the director’s aversion to all cinematographic products that he does not consider to be of high quality.

Aurelio De Laurentiis reproduces the pose perfectly, adding black sunglasses. Thus the Napoli patron appears on the sweatshirts of the new Admin line launched by SSC Napoli. For the first time, ADL takes the field personally for an advertising campaign, not only to sponsor the product, but as a protagonist. The choice of Scorsese’s meme reproduced in a local key by De Laurentiis perfectly embodies SSC Napoli’s desire to celebrate the ironic and irreverent style inspired by memes and the language of Gen Z through the new clothing line, it is no coincidence that it was also launched on Tik Tok. The color black was chosen for the president’s sweatshirt and Antonio Vergara was the model. The twenty-three year old from Frattaminore poses at the cinema among hundreds of red seats, with his hands in the air, black sunglasses and a half smile, just as the president appears on the sweatshirt he is wearing.

The protagonists of the new drop are also Giovane and Højlund, as well as Vergara. In the Instagram advertising campaign, Rasmus is intent on stirring pasta in the pan, in fact, the writing chosen for his sweatshirt is “Garlic, Hojlund and chilli pepper”, with the stylized image of the Dane in the chef version, complete with toque. An episode from Juventus-Napoli was chosen for Vergara’s blue sweatshirt. This is the scene with the referee Mariani who, speaking in English to the player, received the spontaneous response: “I am Neapolitan, first of all”, which became the cartoon on the sweatshirt. And then there’s Giovane, to whom the most viral reel of recent months was dedicated. The voice message of a Neapolitan gentleman intent on placing an order at a fast food restaurant literally paralyzed the web: “Sorry young man, bring me a portion of chips…”. Young man poses in a t-shirt with the writing “Sorry Young Man”, with a portion of chips in his hand, in fact.
