Najah surprised by generous donations for Morocco: ‘Truck is already on its way’

Najah Boulakjar from Breda is overwhelmed by the enormous support for his fundraising campaign for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco. “I thought that after my call I would go that way with a cart on my own with some stuff, but on Monday evening the first full truck will already go to Morocco.”

More stuff will be headed that way in the coming days, because the Boulakjar warehouse is now overflowing. He needs a lot of help with sorting, but an extra pair of hands can’t hurt. “We actually need help sorting and packing. Come help,” he calls.

“Everyone helps, everyone donates.”

The owner of a lamp and home furnishings store in Breda is overwhelmed by the support and all the goods. “I have no words for it. It’s not normal how much stuff we got. From everyone and all nationalities. Everyone helps, everyone donates.”

The money raised so far, more than 5,500 euros, is mainly spent on food parcels. The first will be distributed on Tuesday. According to Boulakjar, there is a great need for tents and sleeping bags, because people have to sleep in the open air, but clothing is also welcome. Normally the entrepreneur is busy with his lamp business, but this now takes precedence.

Boulakjar thinks they will continue collecting and transporting goods to Morocco at least until Sunday.
