“I have been treated like Escobar, but I have nothing to do with those cases of drugs.” Radja Nainggolan, two weeks after the arrest in Belgium, broke the silence. The former midfielder of Rome and Inter clarified after being involved in an investigation into cocaine trafficking that involved 15 other people. “The interrogation lasted four hours and made 6 pm, which was why it was too late for an investigating judge – explained Nainggolan to the newspaper Het Lattesti Nieuws -. So they decided to let me spend the night in the cell”.

Radja, currently under contract with Lokoren in Belgian Serie B, does not hide the bitterness for the story: “The prison was a very strange experience, which I would no longer like to relive. The news spread rapidly, it seemed that they had locked Pablo Escobar … I have nothing to do with those cases of drugs and in fact I was not asked for any questions about that theme. The interrogation focused mainly on my bond with that person “. That is Nasr-Edine Sekkaki, the younger brother of the criminal Ashraf Sekkaki, particularly known in Belgium for his involvement in large-scale drug trafficking and violent robberies.

The reaction of the daughters

“He is a friend and has always been sincere with me – added Nainggolan – so much so that sometimes we helped each other from the financial point of view. I can’t say anything wrong about him. I have never been involved in shady business. I also had to tell my four daughters and the older one is 17 years old, so he asked me a lot of questions. At school she was questioned about it and tried to defend me. I told her not to worry and that I am innocent. ” Meanwhile, the investigations continue with Nainggolan invited not to leave the country before further clarity.
