In the World Cup year, Julian Nagelsmann is strengthening his coaching staff with Bram Geers. The Belgian has already gained experience at FC Bayern.

National coach Julian Nagelsmann has strengthened his support staff for World Cup preparations with Bram Geers. The Belgian acts as the third athletic trainer. The 32-year-old is currently working as performance director at Belgian record champions RSC Anderlecht and will continue to work there despite his DFB commitment.

As the DFB announced on Tuesday, Geers complements the previous duo of Nicklas Dietrich and Krunoslav Banovcic. Geers moved to FC Bayern with head coach Vincent Kompany in the summer of 2024. In Munich he was a close confidant of Kompany and led the warm-up exercises during training. He left the club in October 2025, and the 32-year-old is said to have decided to return to his homeland for personal reasons.

The national team will play against Switzerland in Basel on Friday (from 8:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). Another test against Ghana follows three days later in Stuttgart (8:45 p.m.).
