Nick Woltemades Start in his Premier League adventure was a bit bumpy. Expectations were very high for up to 90 million euros from VfB Stuttgart to Newcastle United – the first skeptics spoke up. And even with his past international playing missions, not everything went made to measure. Before the squadramination for the next World Cup qualifiers on Thursday, national coach Julian Nagelsmann has now commented on Woltemades.
Nagelsmann says on the sidelines of the Premiere of the Rudi People’s documentary “There is only one” in Frankfurt to Woltemades start in England: “Sure, now he has scored two goals, which was also important for him to get well. Goals are the most valuable.” He also explains: “I think that he did it quite well. He still has a few steps to take, but it’s on the right track.”
The DFB striker has scored two goals in the past three games. Among them at the weekend in the 1-2 bankruptcy against Arsenal. In his goal celebration, the 1.98 meter attacker bowed slightly in front of the fans, who cheered him loudly. In summer, FC Bayern had long tried for Woltemade. In the end, however, the Record champion was too high.
Ex-Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge found clear words on Sunday on Sunday. “I said: We come in in order of magnitude, I can no longer find them acceptable. We should not meet all demands,” said Rummenigge, and then becomes very clear.
Rummenigge: “I can only congratulate them in Stuttgart that they have found one – I now say in quotation marks – idiots who paid so much money – because we would not have been secured in Munich.”
