Rafael Nadal escaped elimination at the Indian Wells masters tournament. The fourth-seeded Spaniard was behind Sebastian Korda in the second round in the deciding set with two breaks on Saturday, but still managed to win. Nadal, who did not have to play in the first round, put the American number 38 in the world aside after two and a half hours of play with 6-2 1-6 7-6 (3).
