Madrid (AP) – Record Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal has announced his return to the tennis tour after an injury break. The 35-year-old Spaniard announced on Instagram that he will play at the Masters from May 1st to 8th in Madrid.

“Even though the preparation time was short, I definitely want to play at home,” wrote the fourth in the world rankings. Nadal had been sidelined for a month due to a stress fracture in a rib. He promised in his post that he would try to make it as good as possible. “See you in Madrid.”

Nadal had won his 21st title in a Grand Slam tournament at the Australian Open at the beginning of the year. This puts the former world number one record holder ahead of Serbian Novak Djokovic and Swiss Roger Federer, who have each celebrated 20 Grand Slam victories.
