NAC suffered a painful defeat in the battle against relegation when they visited Telstar. Telstar, number 17 in the Eredivisie, won 3-0 against NAC, which is one place higher in the rankings. Telstar now has 21 points, 1 point less than NAC.
NAC was the better team in the opening phase and was dangerous through Enes Mahmutovic, among others. Telstar then took over the initiative. A shot by Cedric Hatenboer flew just wide, after which a header by Nils Rossen ended up in the hands of NAC keeper Daniel Bielica. On a pass from Jeff Hardeveld, Jochem Ritmeester van de Kamp headed in the 1-0 in the 38th minute.
Three substitutions after halftime
NAC coach Carl Hoefkens made three changes immediately after halftime, but the playing image did not change. Nokkvi Thorisson came close on behalf of Telstar with an effort behind the supporting leg and Bielica made a good save on a shot by Patrick Brouwer. The home team took distance in the final phase. Ritmeester van de Kamp scored the 2-0, after which Brouwer made it 3-0 two minutes later from a rebound.
