NAC accepts the judge’s ruling that the match against Go Ahead Eagles will not be replayed. The Breda club is not taking any further steps in the so-called ‘passport gate’, they announced on Tuesday in a message on their own website.
In the summary proceedings between NAC and the KNVB that were heard last Tuesday, NAC demanded that the match against Go Ahead Eagles be replayed. This was because the home team had fielded left back Dean James while he was not eligible to play. The match ended in a 6-0 win for Go Ahead.
The preliminary relief judge ruled on Monday that the match from March 2026 does not have to be declared invalid and therefore does not have to be replayed.
NAC said in a statement on Monday that it would first study the verdict and only then make further announcements. A day later, the club announced on its website that it accepted the ruling. “No further procedures will be initiated.”
