Naarder football club sends player away after mistreating opponent, previous disturbances

The football player of the Naarder football club NVC who allegedly assaulted an opponent player during a match last weekend does not have to return to the club. That will let the board know. Last weekend’s ‘violence explosion’ would not be isolated, according to other teams in the competition.

Things went badly wrong on the fields of the Naarder football club last weekend when the second team played against Blaricumse BVV. A group of six or seven NVC players came to blows with two of the opposing players, with the apprehended player said to have raged the most.

The player in question would have fought the opponent with the opponent and even kicked his head when he landed on the ground. The man was then also arrested.

The Blaricum club filed a report after the match, after which the Naarder player – a 29-year-old Hilversum player – was arrested.

The club’s team was summoned by the board on Monday evening to tell their story about the events. Only half showed up, the rest showed up without notice. According to the players who were there for ‘private reasons’.

Players deny

Eight players confessed to the board of the brawl, but all denied kicking or hitting themselves. They did not know who exactly would have committed violence, because the uniforms of the two clubs were too similar.

The referee of the game stated that one of the NVC players would have dealt a jaw blow to an opponent.

Not the first incident

The statements of the Naarder team are at odds with the statements of the opponent. Football association KNVB has meanwhile decided to further investigate the brawl, the police are also doing so.

It’s not the only incident under scrutiny. After last weekend’s brawl and the resulting commotion, two other teams have complained. There would have been unsafe situations before when they played against the Naarder football club. A video even surfaced showing how a player from the Naarder team applies a neck clamp to a player of the opponent.

Team withdrawn from competition

Due to the violent incidents and all the unrest, NVC has decided to withdraw the second team from the competition. The team’s matches are said to be ‘risk matches’.

Before the board could inform the team, the team itself also announced that they no longer want to play football. The player who would have hit the opponent has been sent off.
