Due to work, the N33 between Veendam and Gieten will be closed in the direction of Gieten for almost two weeks. From May 1 to 12, the national highway, including entrance and exit ramps, will be closed for maintenance of the road surface. Traffic in the direction of Gieten is diverted via the A7.
Travelers driving towards Assen will be diverted via the A7 to Groningen. In addition, there will be local diversion routes indicated with yellow signs.
The work will start on Friday evening, May 1 at 7:00 PM and is expected to last until Tuesday morning, May 12 at 5:00 AM. Travelers should take into account ten to thirty minutes of extra travel time.
During the work, the asphalt will be taken care of and the markings will be reapplied. Noise-reducing asphalt will also be installed in several places. In addition, the work will be used to tackle, among other things, the guardrails and verges.
