More than 1200 young people from Ostend went on an immersion trip to the Gambian capital Banjul in the last twenty years. But already during the campaign for the municipal elections, N-VA Oostende turned out to be a cool lover of the city band. Last week the party that is in the majority decided to blow up years of cooperation.
“A historical mistake”, according to opposition party proud of Ostend. “You don’t blow up a structural band of 20 years with a press release. You can evaluate and analyze, but now the city council is uninterested and uninformed,” said former ships Silke Beirens on the Oostendse city council.
