An old photo that mysteriously ends up in a front garden. It has been doing Stephanie Bosch-Arends from Emmer-Compascuum for months. In March she suddenly discovered about more than sixty -year -old photo in her front garden. Where this comes from? She has no idea.

“My husband was gardening in the front garden in the morning and I went to look at him. And then I saw the photo happened to be. A bit on the edge of the garden, where the cyclists pass by. I picked up the photo and said: hey is that crazy.” The woman from Emmer-Compascuum does not know how long that photo was there. But the photo was not very damaged, so she suspects that this happened the night before. The weather has not had much influence on the photo.

The photo shows a man and a woman who just came out of a house in neat clothing with corsages on it. The woman has a bouquet of flowers that seem to be attached to white ribbons.

It immediately reminded the resident of Emmer-Compascuum of a wedding. “I think these people were getting married themselves, why would you otherwise walk with such a beautiful bouquet?” Or are they family of someone who just got married on that day? Bosch-Arends is curious about the story behind the photo.

In the background, if you look closely, you can still see a third person who probably also wants to walk outside behind the couple. It seems to be a young woman in dark clothing. Bosch-Arends shared the photo on social media, but that gave her little information. “I first left the photo for a while, but finally put on Facebook and Instragram. But that did not produce any reactions at all. In the end, that photo was here, but I think it’s a shame to throw away. So hopefully the search through RTV Drenthe will yield something.”

The photo raises many questions from the findster. “How do you lose something like that? And then all those names on the back, what do they mean?” For some more information we go to the back of the photo. There we seem to be able to find out the date on which the photo was taken or printed. There is 27-11-60 behind the photo. All kinds of short letter and number combinations are scribbled on the back, with some texts being crossed out again. Bosch-Arends sees names: “I think there is ‘ma’ and something of ‘Bea’ for example.” Speculating about what it can mean, we come to possible repeat orders of the photos.

Bosch-Oraends has thoroughly studied everything, but all the minor instructions have not led to the rightful owner of the photo. The story therefore continues to be surrounded by riddles. Where does the photo come from, who is the owner and who is on this photo? “It would be fantastic if we could find out a little more,” says the finder from Emmer-Compascuum.
