Written by the author together with her partner Sean Baker (the winner of the last Cannes festival with Anora), the film originally titled “The Left-Handed Girl” is a story of women, a female trinity that is never heroic or sanctified.
A young mother, after years spent in the countryside, returns to Taipei and opens a small stand in the lively night marketthe vital eldest daughter does not keep her charm at bay, while I-Jing, the youngest (magnificent) outsources to her left hand (“the hand of the devil” says the traditionalist grandfather) all the forbidden, including clumsiness and petty theft.

In a chaotic city, Shih-Ching Tsou’s camera (the iPhone!) moves at the height of a childthe gaze on the crises and miseries of adults is that of little I-Jing.
