MVV shows head coach Klaas Wels the door | 1Limburg

MVV coach Klaas Wels has been fired by the Maastricht club. The lack of results is reason to end the collaboration, the club reports on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, the club writes “Unfortunately, the sporting performance and team development fell short of expectations and Wels was unable to continue the results achieved at Top Oss in Maastricht.” MVV got the head coach from Oss at the beginning of this season, where he was head coach at Top Oss for four years.

Verberne
Assistant coach Maurice Verberne will take over from Klaas Wels for the rest of the season. He is assisted by assistants Robbie Servais and Tom Muyters. A familiar scenario for Verberne: at Roda JC he also took over the coaching staff after the resignation of Jean-Paul de Jong.

thanks
In the announcement of the dismissal, technical manager Van Geneugden thanks Wels for his efforts. “We consider him highly as a trainer, but certainly also as a person, and we greatly appreciate the commitment and drive he displays on a daily basis. We wish him every success in the future.”
