MVV punishes two fans after racist statements | 1Limburg

MVV has punished two supporters who were guilty of making racist statements on Friday evening.

In the final phase of the away game against FC Dordrecht, the game in the first division was stopped because a French player from FC Dordrecht, Seydine N’Diaye, was racially treated by the fans of the club from Maastricht because of his skin color.

Stadium ban
MVV says in a statement that it has immediately started ‘an extensive investigation’. Two fans emerged who were responsible. The two have been given a stadium ban by MVV and the KNVB can convert that into a national ban to enter the stadiums. Monday there will be consultations between the football association, MVV and the Public Prosecution Service.

Excuses
“We do not tolerate any form of discrimination. Such people do not belong in a stadium, not in Maastricht and not in any city,” says general manager Erik Noor. According to MVV, Noor has unsuccessfully contacted N’Diaye to apologize for the events on behalf of the club.
