Music association Oranje applauds during anniversary concert in Roden. Certificate of merit for 100-year ensemble

Music association Oranje from Roden was put in the spotlight by Mayor Klaas Smid at their 100th anniversary concert on Saturday. The association received the certificate of merit from his hands.

The certificate is awarded to associations and institutions that, in the opinion of the mayor and aldermen, qualify for this because of their special merits. According to Smid, that was certainly the case with the Dutch team. The certificate carries an amount of 500 euros.

Ellen ten Damme at anniversary concert

On Saturday the orchestra from Roden celebrated its 100th anniversary with a concert in the Pompstee. Singer Ellen ten Damme, who grew up in Roden, was also roped in for the party evening. The corps also wore new uniforms and a special book was published, with 100 years of Orange history.
