Muse announce their tenth studio album “The Wow! Signal” – including first single “Be with you” with church organ, electronics and rock guitars.

Muse are back. With “The Wow! Signal”, the alternative rock band announces their tenth album. To the delight of many fans, the announcement came with a track.

New single “Be With You”

The song that has already been released is “Be With You”. The British group teased it earlier this month. Together with “Unravelling” from 2025, it marks the start of the new album – both songs will be featured on it. The final work will be published on June 26, 2026.

The album’s first single comes with an exciting mix: it opens with a church organ before taking a driving electronic direction supported by rock guitars.

Frontman Matt Bellamy sings (translated): “It seems like my light has gone out, I’ve used up all my happiness / I have to throw myself into the fire / Find a higher power and reach for something new / I feel like my life has just begun – it can’t just be with anyone / It has to be with you.” The song was released with a suitably cinematic music video.

“A Cosmic Mystery”

A press release for the album states: “‘The WOW! Signal’ takes its title from one of the most intriguing interstellar mysteries of the last century – a powerful, 72-second radio pulse discovered in 1977 that originated in the constellation Sagittarius; its bandwidth and intensity suggested a possible extraterrestrial source.”

It continues: “The astronomer who discovered this anomaly famously orbited the now iconic string ‘6EQUJ5’ and wrote ‘WOW!’ next to the expression – giving the signal its name and securing it a permanent place in scientific and popular culture.”

The album is said to address “a mix of cosmic mystery, existential hope and the exhilarating prospect of contact with something far beyond us.”

How do fans react to the first single?

Fans’ reactions to the first song from the new album were mixed. Many expressed enthusiasm about the music. As one fan wrote on YouTube: “Muse doesn’t need a genre – they are a genre.” Another wrote on

On Reddit, however, there were also critical voices. One comment read: “I don’t understand their new penchant for just bursting into a riff in the newer songs and then immediately retreating again.”
